Dear SJCP Families and Friends,
I am delighted to share that we have successfully moved into our new campus in Buckeystown and we are excited to begin our second semester at our beautiful new school.
A special thank you to the more than 150 parents, alumni, students, board and faculty/staff members who volunteered their time and support over the ten day move-in period. Please visit the schools website for pictures of the move.
I would also like to acknowledge and thank our Board of Director’s for their unflagging commitment to completing this process. I especially want to recognize our Board Chairman, Greg Harraka and Board Member Joe Welty. Both Greg and Joe’s herculean efforts are in no small measure responsible for getting us to the finish line and securing the future of Saint John’s. I also want to thank BlueRidge Bank for taking the lead with our financing and acknowledge their partners, Woodsboro Bank and Frederick County Bank, as well as the Archdiocese of Baltimore, The Matan Companies, Friends of Catholic Education, the Trustees of Saint John’s Literary Institution Charitable Trust, Miles & Stockbridge P.C., Wye River Group, and United Bank, as well as the numerous Saint John’s Catholic Prep benefactors and donors for their support. In addition, I want to acknowledge the incredible work of our Contractor Coakley Williams Construction, Inc., the Superintendent Dennis Stevens and the school’s Owner Representative, Carole Sepe. The repurposing of the building was done in a record four months and we are extremely grateful for their dedication and hard work.
We have now begun the task of developing the plans for the athletic playing fields on our adjacent 46 acres. There will be more to come in the near future regarding the fields.
On Friday, February 22, 2013 at 1:30 p.m., The Most Reverend William E. Lori, Archbishop of Baltimore, will be on campus for the official blessing and dedication of our new academic building. We look forward to this very special occasion.
Thank you for all your prayers of support.
