Paul and Glenna Crutchley, 1957 & 1958
In September, 2009, Paul and Glenna went on a two week family cruise vacation to England and Canada. This past Christmas they enjoyed a holiday trip to Walt Disney World to visit their granddaughter who is a photographer at Disney.
Mary Louise Chesley-Cora, 1959
Mary Louise is keeping busy with Parish Music, Adult Faith Formation, and Justice & Peace issues in the church. She and her husband George give thanks for each new day and the blessings of family & friends. She had so much fun at her 50th class reunion in September 2009.
Julian Eibin, 1969
Julian has been an Episcopal priest for over 26 years. He became rector of St. John's Memorial Episcopal Church on August 1, 2009. He has been married since August 6, 2005 to Deborah Macoy Davis. Julian has three grown daughters of his own and Deb has a son and daughter.
Dipuo Sedibe, 1988
Dipuo recently Googled St. John’s Literary for the first time and was excited to find a newsletter. All the great memories about the school just came pouring in. She remembers most of her classmates by name - Carrie, Kim, Nima, Derrick, Ramain, and Jerome to name a few. Dipuo is currently a Nursing Services Manager for the largest mining operation (Anglo American) in South Africa. She has two children, a boy and a girl, and lives in Pretoria, South Africa.
Jon Speiser, 2000
Jon graduated from Towson University with a degree in Business Management. He is the President/Owner of Memories Charcoal House, Inc. in Mt. Airy, MD. Jon hosted his 10 year reunion at Memories Charcoal House on Saturday, June 18.
Veronica Lancaster, 2001
After freelancing in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area as a designer, Veronica decided to pursue a Master's Degree. She is currently attending UCLA for her MFA in entertainment sound design.
Matthew “Cal” Calcagni, 2004
Cal graduated from McDaniel College in 2008 with a BA in Communications & TV Production. He is currently working as a production assistant for both NBC 25 Hagerstown & the Frederick County Government.
Phil York, 2006
Phil recently graduated from Marietta College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science (cum laude) in May, 2010. He will further his education this fall as he pursues a two year Master’s Degree in Public Service and Administration at Texas A&M, The Bush School of Government and Service. He aspires to be an executive director of a non-profit organization whose mission is to eradicate and/or ameliorate the causes and effects of American poverty and homelessness.
Andrew Caddy, 2007
Andrew is married and has a daughter named Chelsea.
Moriah Thomas, 2008
Moriah currently attends Howard University. She is a 2010 recipient of the GS Scholarship for Excellence. In addition, Moriah received the Most Outstanding and Distinguished Finance Major Award for the Howard University School of Business Executive Leadership Honors Program. This summer, she is currently working on Wall Street at Goldman Sachs & Co. for her second consecutive year. This upcoming school year she has the honor of serving her student body as the Executive Treasurer of the Howard University School of Business Student Council. Moriah’s near future plans include receiving a Paralegal certification and to begin preparing for the LSAT.
Keegan Eichelman, 2009
Keegan currently attends Mount St. Mary’s University. On May 2, 2010, she was awarded The Monsignor Hugh J. Phillips Prize award for having the highest grade point average in the freshman class.
Laura Kinley, 2009
Laura currently attends Catholic University. During her freshman year, she participated in the Landmark Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships representing Catholic University. She was victorious by running 4:51.31 to claim the 1,500-meters. She then became a two event winner on day two when she ran a time of 2:20.05 to win the 800-meters. Laura received Rookie of the Year accolades for her performance at the Championship meet.
Mr. Duane Wirdel, Past Faculty
Saint John’s recently heard from Mr. Duane Wirdel, who taught English from 1977 through 1979. He is so amazed to see how much the school has changed since his teaching days. After leaving Saint John’s, Mr. Wirdel went to the Tome School in North East, Maryland to teach history and literature and has taught there ever since (31 years and counting!). Mr. Wirdel wishes Saint John’s all the best.
